About Me

Jordan_branding_photography-48.jpg

“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence. It is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare,"- Audre Lorde

As a caring, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed therapist, my passion lies in helping people reconnect with themselves, rediscover their inner voice, and step into the life they truly deserve. I’m Jordan Beckum, M.Ed., LPC, NCC, a licensed therapist in Georgia and South Carolina, wellness consultant, Registered Yoga Teacher, and the creator of Healing With Jordan and Mind Over Matter Wellness & Consulting.

I became a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to the beauty within people, even in the moments when they can’t yet see it. My work focuses on helping you discover your own potential, understand the patterns that shape your life, and navigate the world with greater clarity, confidence, and self-assurance. Clients often tell me that working with me feels grounding, validating, and collaborative, as if I've finally created a space where they can be fully seen.

My Approach to Therapy

As a humanistic, mindful, and trauma-informed therapist, I blend warmth with honest, active engagement. I believe healing happens through connection, curiosity, and compassion, not judgment.

My therapeutic approach integrates:

• Mindfulness-Based Interventions

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

• Narrative and Attachment Work

• Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

• Somatic and emotional awareness practices

Together, we explore your emotions, experiences, and relationships, helping you build new insights, healthier patterns, and a stronger sense of self. Every session is tailored to your needs, your story, and the goals you bring into the room.

Who I Support

I work with teens, adults, and couples who are navigating:

• trauma and difficult life experiences
• anxiety, stress, and burnout
• identity exploration and life transitions
• relationship challenges and boundary-setting
• self-worth, emotional overwhelm, and rediscovery

I especially hold space for Black and Brown individuals and those seeking a therapist who understands the cultural layers of healing. As a young, Black therapist, I am deeply committed to dissolving stigma and creating safe, affirming spaces within our communities. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and open to discussing race, sexuality, spirituality, and identity with clients who want a space where these conversations are welcomed and understood.

Beyond the Therapy Room

My dedication to mental health also extends to community work and corporate spaces. I facilitate wellness workshops and seminars that focus on stress management, emotional intelligence, workplace dynamics, mindfulness, and holistic well-being. My goal is to empower individuals and organizations with tools that support both personal and professional growth.

What Clients Often Experience Working With Me

Clients often describe our work together as:
• validating and empowering
• helping them identify and shift long-standing patterns
• clarifying their identity and strengthening their boundaries
• reconnecting them with their intuition and emotional needs
• providing a safe place to talk openly without code-switching or shrinking

Ultimately, my mission is to help you feel seen, supported, and capable of building a life rooted in authenticity, not survival mode.

A Little About Me

Outside of sessions, I enjoy baking, running races for the photo ops, creating eclectic playlists, practicing yoga, reading, and spending time with my husband, family, and friends. I’m also a writer and recently published my first book, Where I Have Been, now available on Amazon.

Let’s Work Together

I am currently accepting new clients for virtual therapy in Georgia and South Carolina, as well as new organizational clients. If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, I would be honored to walk alongside you
